Crowded Teeth

What Is It?
Crowded teeth happen when there isn't enough room in the jaw for all your teeth to fit in a straight line. They overlap, rotate, or get pushed behind other teeth.
Signs to Look For
- Teeth visibly overlapping or twisted
- Difficult to floss between certain teeth
- One or more teeth pushed behind others
- Uneven wear because some teeth hit harder
What Causes It?
Usually the jaw is too small for the teeth, or the teeth are larger than average. Genetics plays a big role.
How We Fix It
Braces work very well for crowding at any severity. In some cases a palatal expander is used first to create more room.
